When Does The Snow Hit In The Smokies?
Well, these years it can get kinda hard to tell. The last few years have been on the mild side and for a bit before then, it was exceptionally cold to the point where we saw single digit temperatures. One year, it was colder and snowed more on Halloween than it did on Christmas! This year it even managed to snow BEFORE Christmas.
All that said, usually it’s after New Years and in January, February and early-to-mid March when we see snow in the Smokies, although in the higher elevations, we see a lot more white due to their lower temperatures than down here in the valley. Those are the months when folks really need to have their Winter preparations made and make sure their HVAC units are in good working order.
We recommend, however, that if you hadn’t had your HVAC serviced or checked in quite some time or if you suspect anything on it is starting to fail, call us up at (865) 654-1506 as soon as possible and let’s make sure you have heat for Winter. Been twice in recent memory families had to put on slip-proof footwear under their Halloween costumes!
